With geriatric Internet Explorer versions this site looks shite. This because Impossiblue is built with modern tools and would require hacks and workarounds to function in legacy browsers. I no longer have the patience nor the inclination to satisfy everybody. Impossiblue is an experiment and a playground – and my sustenance does not depend on it. As a concequence – to embarrass nobody – I have decided to lock you out. So, there.

CSS blur animation

Important: This test will only succeed in WebKit-based browsers and browsers that support the generic CSS blur filter.

Fig. After a 3 seconds delay, an animation kicks in to blur the image to a preset value over a period of 12 seconds. Note that a mask has been applied to retain the sharp outline. Please see the page source for details and refer to Christian Krammer’s CSS3 files web site [ Update: The site is now extinct ] for the theory behind it all. As the page stands, it is only a reference point for myself whenever I need the functionality. If it proves useful for anybody else, so much the better.
